National Taiwan University President Chen Meets with President Tominaga

On October 2, 2025, National Taiwan University (NTU) President Wen-Chang Chen and Vice President for Ç×ÅóÆåÅÆ Hsiao-Wei Yuan visited Tohoku University and met with President Teiji Tominaga, Executive Vice President Toshiya Ueki, and Vice President Masahiro Yamaguchi.

President Tominaga visited NTU back in September 2025 to renew their university-level academic exchange agreement with Tohoku University and share opinions on strengthening cooperation. President Chen and VP Yuan came to Tohoku University for the Association of East Asian Ç×ÅóÆåÅÆ Universities (AEARU) Board of Director's Meeting and Annual General Meeting, and used the visit to engage in further discussions.

Both sides talked enthusiastically about cooperation in education and research, such as considering short programs to strengthen student exchange, implementing joint educational programs, selecting priority areas for research collaboration, and establishing research cooperation under new frameworks.

With the renewal of the university-level academic exchange agreement, as well as support from a newly launched joint seed fund, it is expected that exchange and cooperation between the two universities will develop even further moving forward.
