Tohoku University's International Support Center seeks to hire for the following position.

Job Description
Successful candidates will be in charge of the following tasks:
- Providing support services for international students and researchers
- Supervising the Support Section
- Assisting international researchers with practical matters related to moving to Japan, as well as throughout their stay at Tohoku University
- Planning and coordinating various systems and tasks related to the above
- Carrying out other duties handled by the International Support Divisions.

Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree
- Fluent in spoken and written Japanese (JLPT N1)
- Fluent in spoken and written English (TOEIC 860 or higher)
- Experience using Microsoft Office and able to craft business documents, aggregate and analyse data, and create presentations
- Two years or more of experience supporting foreign nationals at a post-secondary institution or equivalent work experience

Selection Schedule
- First round (document screening)
Application deadline: Tuesday, May 27, 2025 - Second round individual interviews
Interviews take place between May 29 and 30 - Third round (executive interview)
Those who pass the second round will proceed to further interviews
Interview-related travel expenses will be borne by the applicant.
Compensation and benefits
The salary is determined in accordance with the National University Corporation Tohoku University's employee salary regulations.
Salary range: 283,871 - 379,529 (Starting salary is determined by the applicant's work experience and educational background)
Allowances: commuting, housing, dependent, and overtime
Bonuses: Two annual bonuses and a diligence allowance

Established in April 2022, the International Support Center center provides comprehensive support to international students, international researchers, and faculty members of Tohoku University. From providing support with practical matters such as travel arrangements and finding accommodation, to more complex bureaucratic procedures, the center provides the resources and assistance needed to ensure that the international community in Tohoku University has a worry-free and enjoyable experience in Sendai and at the university.
